"Matsukane Hotel" located in a rice field and a sugarcane field spreading all over, to the old private house of the tile roof, such a peaceful Weiya village.

Such "Matsukane Hotel" opened as a Matsukane Ryokan since 1972. In 1996, we renewed as "Matsukane Hotel".

There is not a convenience store or a large supermarket in Iheya island, but there are some shops instead.
Also right next to "Matsukane Hotel" there is a shop which is open until 10 pm, which is enough for a bit of shopping.

By the way, "Matsukane Hotel" basically does not offer dinner. So go out to eat out at night, or buy side dishes etc in the kiosk.

The stalls of the shops are unexpectedly abundant, including sweets and bread, sashimi and snacks, and soft drinks and alcohol.
The price which is worrisome is also about 10% of the main island price, because it is a remote island there was not a high impression there.

Of course, I recommend going to local taverns as well.
But buying sake at the kiosk and tasting relaxedly at the seaside in front of the room and hotel is the way I spend my time!

Rooms of 'Matsukane Hotel' are totaling 17 rooms in total of 11 rooms and 6 Japanese rooms, all on the second floor.

Both of them have maximum capacity of 3 people, Western style room is slightly wider. It has 2 beds and a sofa bed.
Because the Japanese style room is about 6 tatami mats, it is quite feasible to lay three mattresses.

Since this time I used it by one person, I stayed in a Japanese-style room.
I could also secure the space to put the luggage, and I could do the work by placing the PC in the table.Besides the space of 6 tatami mats, unit baths are also equipped in each room.
Minimal necessary amenities such as hair dryer, bath towel, face towel and toothbrush are also available.

From the room, a view of the feeling overlooking the village. Atmosphere that "The island is remote."Wi-Fi is also flying in the hall, but if you want to use the more stable internet, it is better to use the LAN cable which is freely rented at the reception desk.
There is also a vending machine and a coin launderette, and you can hang the laundry with a rooftop balcony.Yuntaku (common) space is also set up on the 1st and 2nd floor.

When staying at "Matsukane Hotel", you have to be careful going out after midnight.
Although it is a hotel, this is a small isolated island. At night, the staff will be gone and the entrance door will be closed.
Although opening itself and going out by opening the key itself has no problem, please be careful to go out while the staff is in because you will not be able to enter inside if you close the key in the meantime.

The room rate is 5,400 yen for 1 person with Japanese style room, breakfast included.
Reservation is only on the phone, it is cash settlement at the site. In addition, it will charge you a shuttle to and from each region by car.

3. Breakfast at "Matsukane Hotel"

Speaking of the pleasure of staying at the island, meals using local ingredients.
At "Matsukane Hotel" breakfast will be served for 1 hour from 7.30 am to 8.30 am in the dining room set up on the 1st floor lobby.

Menu is Japanese cuisine, with dishes using Mozuku vinegar, hot water tofu, locally harvested vegetables and fish, alongside the placement in the tray.
Among them, my recommendation is Mozuk which is a special product of Iheya Island. Iheya's Mozuku is particularly thick and crispy and chewy response is outstanding.

As rice is served with pizza, it is free for you to enter. You can get it from the morning.Coffee · tea · water is self-service, you can drink freely except at breakfast OK.
While listening to artists who are related to Iheya Island and folk songs of Okinawa, it is a relaxing breakfast. It became a moment that makes me think that it was good to come to Iheya island alone.
