Have you ever felt a little hungry or craving something sweet after dinner? That's right, there's always room for dessert after a meal. Sometimes you're in the mood for something rich and heavy, and other times you want something light and refreshing. You want to choose according to your mood at the time. Nighttime parfaits are a dessert that can satisfy such luxurious desires. There's a line every day in front of this unique shop that's only open at night. To experience its charm firsthand, I went to check it out.

Yoru Kaze ni Ice is a late-night parfait shop that is open until 24:00.

Yoru Kaze ni Ice is a hugely popular late-night parfait specialty shop with locations in Okinawa City and Naha City. The Okinawa City store opened last July, and the second store opened in Naha in January 2023. This time, I visited the Okinawa City store to try their famous late-night parfait.

Okinawa City is located in the central part of Okinawa Prefecture, about a 40-minute drive north from Naha Airport. It is the second largest city in the prefecture after Naha, and due to the presence of U.S. military bases, the city has a culture influenced by America. Yoru Kaze ni Ice is located just past Gintengai, a shopping street with a unique atmosphere.

The restaurant was bustling with a wide range of customers, regardless of age or gender, from people on their way home from drinking parties to couples stopping by during a drive date, and families coming in for dessert after a meal.

After much deliberation, I chose the limited-edition "Honey Lemon" ice cream. It was perfect for the scorching heat of late August when I visited. The bright yellow of the lemon stood out against the white ice cream, instantly giving a feeling of coolness. The balance between the sweet honey and the tartness of the lemon was exquisite.

The other option is Earl Grey chocolate whipped cream with added chocolate crunch as a topping.

The combination of black tea and chocolate is unique and unexpected, but one bite reveals a surprisingly delicious taste. The Earl Grey tea is light, so even with the added chocolate crunch, it doesn't become overly sweet. The size is just right, so it's easy to see why it's so popular.

The refreshing coolness on a tropical night, the invigorating night breeze, and the delicious taste of ice cream melting in your mouth are simply exquisite. You can enjoy a moment of pure bliss. It's truly a special experience that can only be had at night.

They release new limited-time menu items every month, so you can discover new flavors each time you visit, making it a place you'll definitely want to return to.
One of the great things about ice cream in the evening is being able to enjoy a variety of flavors with freely customizable toppings. Trying out different flavors and creating your own favorite parfait is a great idea.

Although there is a counter table inside the shop that can seat 3-4 people, there are no proper seats, and it is primarily a takeout establishment.

Parfaits are great whether you enjoy them outdoors or savor them in a stylish shop. A parfait tastes even better in a bar-like setting.

Please use the trash cans inside the store after you've finished eating.

Access · Parking

There is no dedicated parking lot for Yoru Kaze ni Ice, so if you are coming by car, please use a nearby coin-operated parking lot.
The nearest coin-operated parking lot is about a 1-minute walk away. It's located along the main road (National Route 331) near the shop, and the sign is large and easy to spot.

Please also enjoy the unique atmosphere of Koza, including Gintengai shopping street.

If you're taking the bus, the nearest stop is the "Koza" bus stop at Koza Crossroads. It's about a 4-minute walk from the Koza bus stop.
Enjoy yourselves, but be mindful of the time you need to get home!
