Japan Travel Awards 2025 Introduction Comment

Treeful Treehouse Sustainable Resort is located in the Yanbaru forest of Nago City, Okinawa Island.
Based on the concept of "coexistence with nature," a stay in a treehouse where you can experience nature with all five senses simultaneously links to the realization of a sustainable world.

All facilities (treehouses and aerohouses) are built at a height of 1.2 meters or more above the ground, and slits are provided in bridges and aerial walkways. This is to allow sunlight to reach the ground, enabling plants to grow and not hindering the habitat and movement of microorganisms and animals.

Furthermore, the facility uses no fossil fuels, relying solely on electricity. In addition to generating power from solar panels, it utilizes Okinawa Electric Power's renewable energy source, "Uchina CO2 Free Menu," to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Other sustainability initiatives and design considerations, such as those related to water and waste management, extend to a wide range of aspects of the facility.

While coexisting with nature, you can of course also enjoy the extraordinary time and special experiences that are the essence of travel.

Enjoy dinner around a campfire in a sophisticated and tranquil setting.

In addition to activities such as tours of the stunning Yanbaru scenery and forest bathing river trekking, we also offer retreat menus including treehouse saunas and relaxation treatments.

You'll experience a truly unique stay, one that's both conceptual and offers the ultimate resort experience.

What is the "Japan Travel Award"?

Established in 2021, this award aims to create a better society through tourism. It evaluates DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion), sustainability, and inbound tourism initiatives in the field of tourism, recognizing regions and companies that are worthy of being called "places that inspire," not just tourist destinations.
