Todoroki Falls is a scenic spot located in Nago City, in the northern area of ​​Okinawa.

1. Access to Todoroki Falls

Todoroki Falls is located within a village and can be a little difficult to find, so first, let me explain how to get to Todoroki Falls from "Kyoda Roadside Station," the gateway to Nago City.

If you head north on National Route 58 from Kyoda Roadside Station, you will come to a traffic light with a sign for "Todoroki Falls," so turn right at that point.

If you continue straight along the road, you will see a sign for Todoroki Falls featuring Nago City's mascot, "Nago Oyakata." Turn left here.

If you continue driving through the village, you will arrive at Todoroki Falls Park. There is a free parking lot available, so park your car here.

Upon arriving at Todoroki Falls Park, first head to the administration building, easily identifiable by its red tiled roof. You'll then purchase your admission ticket from the ticket machine located there.

After purchasing your ticket, you'll be greeted by well-maintained walking paths. Todoroki Falls Park underwent renovations in 2018, making it even more enjoyable. It's also barrier-free, making it accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

Next to the walking path is a plaza with beautifully maintained grass. Benches are placed here and there, making it a very convenient place to use. It seems like a great spot for a mini-picnic or a break during a drive, perhaps after buying some snacks and drinks at the Kyoda roadside station!

Walking straight along the promenade, you'll come across the Todoroki Park Bridge.

Crossing the bridge leads to a "wooden deck." It has a hiking-like atmosphere, and your spirits will naturally lift.

If you continue along the wooden deck following the route, you will arrive at a gazebo where you can admire the "Todoroki Falls"!

It's only a 3-5 minute walk from the parking lot to the viewpoint where you can see the waterfall. This ease of access is one of the best things about Todoroki Falls.

Incidentally, if you take a side path off the wooden deck, you'll find a plaza surrounded by greenery. It has the atmosphere of a secret courtyard, and I recommend taking a short break here.

3. Enjoy the Todoroki Falls

The main attraction at "Todoroki Falls Park" is, of course, the waterfall. The area beyond the gazebo at the end of the wooden deck is slightly elevated, allowing you to enjoy the 30-meter-high waterfall from a very close distance.

The water cascading down towards the waterfall basin, the spray... it almost feels like you can feel the negative ions!

The majestic "monolith" standing next to the waterfall is also a must-see. This massive rock face, said to have been formed approximately 1,500 years ago and standing 80 meters tall, is truly breathtaking. While it's easy to be drawn only to the waterfall, be sure to check out the monolith, which powerfully conveys the greatness of nature.

A short distance from the base of the waterfall, there's an area where you can play in the water. It's not very deep, making it perfect for young children to splash around in. It's great that you can easily experience the waterfall, from admiring it to playing in the water. There are no changing rooms, so please bring your own towels and other necessities.
