Naha City ① Gardi

The first Pokémon manhole cover in Naha City features Growlithe. The design shows two Growlithe standing in front of Shureimon Gate.
The pose, with its foot resting on a Poké Ball, is the same as that of the Shisa statues in front of the Hoshinmon Gate.

The location is in "Ryutan Plaza," next to Ryutan Pond in Shuri Castle Park.
Please check it out when you visit Shuri Castle Park.

- 18 Shuri Ikehata-cho, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture
Naha City ② Windy

The second Pokémon manhole cover in Naha City features Arcanine. The background is the prefectural flower, the "Deigo" (Erythrina variegata).
The design of Windy standing like a Shisa amidst the falling petals of the coral tree is wonderful and gives off a real Okinawan vibe.
The way the mouths open and close to indicate male and female is also reminiscent of Shisa statues.

It's located in "Tenbusu Plaza" along Kokusai Street. It's easily accessible from Makishi Station.
- Address
- 3-2 Makishi, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture
Tomigusuku City: Jaraco and Axew

Tomigusuku City, known as the birthplace of the Hari festival, has Pokémon manhole covers featuring Jangmo-o and Axew.
Hari is a traditional event in which participants compete to see who can row the fastest boat, which is decorated with a dragon design.
Dragon-type Pokémon like Jangmo-o and Axew are excellent matchups against Harley.
Every year around May, harley races are held in various locations throughout the prefecture, so please do come and see them.

The Pokémon manhole cover is located on the north side of Tiguma Hall.

Itoman City: Sunabaa and Kameeru

Itoman City has Pokémon manhole covers featuring Sandygast and Wartortle.
The illustration depicts Sunabaa and Kameeru playing on the beach, and it's possible that this beach is modeled after "Mimi Beach."

The location is the event plaza at "Farmers Market Itoman." Farmers Market Itoman sells fresh, safe, and secure local vegetables.
- Address
- 4-19-1 Nishizaki-cho, Itoman City, Okinawa Prefecture
Nanjo City: Zangoose and hub snake

Nanjo City has Pokémon manhole covers featuring Zangoose and Hub Snake.
I think the design features a zangoose and a venomous snake because you can see a swimming competition between a mongoose and a venomous snake at "Okinawa World" in Nanjo City.

It's interesting that there's a Pokémon that's so perfectly suited to Nanjo City.
The location is at "Ganju Station Nanjo." Ganju Station Nanjo is a tourist base for the World Heritage site Seifa Utaki, and offers bicycle rentals and chinsuko (Okinawan shortbread) making experiences.
- Address
- 541 Chinen Kudeken, Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture
Urasoe City: Popokko and Solrock

In Urasoe City, there are manhole covers featuring designs of Popokko and Solrock.
Popokko is inspired by the "large-flowered allamanda vine," the official flower of Urasoe City, while Solrock is inspired by "Tedako" (meaning "child of the sun"), an honorific title for Eiso, the king of Urasoe City.

It's located in the plaza south of the National Theatre Okinawa. You can find it by walking along the pedestrian walkway on the road side.

Ginowan City: Corsola and Luvdisc

Ginowan City has manhole covers featuring Corsola and Luvdisc. The fact that they are water-type Pokémon is excellent, given their connection to the tropical beach in Ginowan City.
Corsola, which loves the ocean, is also perfectly suited to the blue waters of a tropical beach.

The location is in front of the arch that says "Ginowan Tropical Beach" inside Tropical Beach.
- Address
- 4-2-1 Mashiki, Ginowan City, Okinawa Prefecture
Chatan Town Gardi

The Pokémon manhole cover in Chatan Town features a design of Growlithe visiting American Village.
The design also incorporates the fireworks that are launched every Saturday at 20 PM in American Village, which is a cute touch.

The location is in front of a restaurant called "Pizzeria Bar Ariccia" on the waterfront in American Village.
- Address
- 20 Mihama, Chatan-cho, Okinawa Prefecture
Kentaurus, Uruma City

Uruma City had a Tauros-themed Pokémon manhole cover.
Uruma City is famous for bullfighting, and the Uruma City Multipurpose Dome is a mecca for bullfighting tournaments.
So, maybe the rampaging bull Pokémon, Tauros, is the Pokémon manhole cover.

The location is at the entrance to the Ishikawa Sports Ground, which is adjacent to the Uruma City Multipurpose Dome.
- Address
- 2316 Ishikawa, Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture
Okinawa City: Batchinky and Lurantis

The Pokémon manhole covers in Okinawa City feature Thwackey and Lurantis.
Okinawa City is famous for Eisa dance, and the sight of Bachinki moving dynamically with sticks in hand resembles Eisa.

The location is at the entrance of "Okinawa Children's Land".
Okinawa Children's Land is a great spot for family trips, not only because it has a zoo, but also because it has plenty of indoor facilities and illuminations in the winter.
- Address
- 5-7-1 Goya, Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture
Nago City: Emolga and Tsutsukera

The Pokémon manhole covers in Nago City feature designs of Emolga and Pikipek.
The design featuring Emolga and Pikipek playing in a banyan tree is really cute.
In Okinawa, the banyan tree is also known as a place where spirits reside.

The location is within Gajumaru Green Park, and the landmark is the "Hinpun Banyan Tree" located directly across the road.
- Address
- 321-3, Jō 2-chome, Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture
Motobu Town (Ocean Expo Park) Wailord

There is a Pokémon manhole cover featuring Wailord in Motobu Town. In winter, whale watching is possible off the west coast of Okinawa Island, near Ie Island and the Kerama Islands, which may explain why it's called Wailord.

The location is next to the general information center (Haisai Plaza) within Ocean Expo Park. The general information center (Haisai Plaza) is about a 4-minute walk south from Churaumi Aquarium.
- Address
- Okinawa Prefecture, Motobu Town, Ishikawa, within the Ocean Expo Park
