I recently visited "Oha Corte Bakery" for teatime.
It's located in a quiet neighborhood, less than a 10-minute walk from Kokusai Street.
Ohakorte Bakery, with its striking brown tiles, is a renovated old building that was originally a notary public's office in Naha.
The cafe blends so seamlessly into the town that you might easily walk right past it if you didn't know it was there.
Opening hours are from 7:30 AM to 20:00 PM.
Our menu offers something for everyone, from those who just want a quick cup of tea to those who want to enjoy a full meal.
This time, I'd like to introduce you to "Ohacorte Bakery."

1. This is what Ohakorte Bakery is like.
The bakery I visited this time was "Ohacorte Bakery" located in Izumizaki, Naha.
As the name suggests, this shop primarily sells bread, with a cafe space next door.
It's also very conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Asahibashi Station on the Yui Rail line.
There were people of all ages in the store.
The group includes a variety of people, such as groups with children, mothers who are friends, and office workers.
There were many solo diners, and a few were seen working on their laptops while enjoying their lunch.
What was particularly impressive was the wide variety of eat-in menu options.
In addition to the regular menu that can be ordered anytime, they also offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and more.
Breakfast is light, with options like toast and pancakes; lunch is a one-plate meal where you can choose your main and side dishes; and in the evening, you can enjoy hearty meals and alcoholic beverages.
The best thing about it is that it can be used in a variety of situations.
Ohakorte Bakery has a menu item called "Long Stay Coffee," where you can have unlimited refills of drip coffee for 500 yen.
The phrase "To allow you to relax and enjoy your time at our restaurant," written on the menu, left a strong impression on me.
These kinds of stylish cafes make you feel like you have to leave as soon as you finish eating, but it's easy to see why they're loved by locals and why so many different people can enjoy themselves in their own way!
2. French toast that lets you savor the ingredients
I visited on a weekday, a little after 12:30.
It was lunchtime, but the restaurant was spacious, so it didn't seem too crowded.
I was shown to my seat and immediately looked at the menu. The free Wi-Fi password was printed on the menu holder.
After consulting with the staff, I ordered their recommended French toast, which is their signature dish. I also got an iced coffee, as it comes with a drink set for a 100 yen discount.
We waited for a little less than 10 minutes.
The French toast, perfectly toasted, was served on a bright blue plate.
The savory aroma tells you it's going to be delicious even before you take a bite.
First, I took a bite without any toppings. The texture was exactly as I expected: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Please squeeze the lemon provided next to it using this lemon squeezer.
Squeeze out the juice and pour it over the dish.
I definitely recommend adding lemon to this!
The sweetness of the lemon sugar and the tartness of the lemon combine perfectly, making this French toast surprisingly refreshing.
Incidentally, this bread is specially baked every day just for making French toast.
We source our specially selected, pesticide-free lemons from specific farmers.
I had the impression that French toast was a bit heavy, but this combination was a surprise. It was so refreshing that I could probably eat two more.
3. Don't forget the attached pantry.
In addition to the cafe space, there is also a pantry selling original goods and food products.
They also sell deli items and have a wide selection of takeout options.
The concept behind this product is to allow you to enjoy the world of Ohacorte not only in the store but also at home.
In front of the counter, a variety of breads are lined up, emitting a delicious aroma.
We offer a wide variety of breads, from small meal-type breads to sweet breads and savory breads.
Among them, the bread made with sea lettuce and rock salt has a distinct Okinawan feel and is a popular item despite its simplicity.
The individually packaged pound cakes have a long shelf life, so they might make a nice little gift.
These original mugs, which have been incredibly popular since their release, are limited edition items only available here. Many customers apparently buy them together with freshly baked cookies that pair perfectly with coffee or milk.
Incidentally, the third floor of the store is a home improvement center themed around "building a home starting from the kitchen." They sell everything from carefully selected furniture to tiles and other components.
Unfortunately, the home improvement store was closed on the day I visited (Wednesday), but it's nice to be able to easily drop in after a meal.
4. Conclusion
Ohakorte Bakery's Ohakorte originally specialized in fruit tarts, so you can be sure of the quality of their sweets. There are a total of five stores in the prefecture.
Even though they're part of a chain, they don't all have the same atmosphere.
Each location operates with a different concept, so you can enjoy a different atmosphere and menu no matter which one you visit.
If you're ever in Naha, why not pay a visit?
