[Temporarily Closed] Experience glamping at Nanmamui Nature Resort, surrounded by forests and the sea!

Nanmamui Okinawa Glamping

Nanmamui Nature Resort (hereinafter referred to as Nanmamui) is located on Yagaji Island, across from Kouri Island, a popular tourist destination.

A narrow, steep, tree-covered road branches off from Prefectural Road 110, marking the entrance to Nanmamui.
After climbing a relatively short slope, an open parking area and a white, rectangular building come into view.

Although not far from the prefectural road, the space surrounded by trees feels like a miniature garden. It even feels as if time has slowed down.

1. Glamping in Nanmamui

Namu Amida Butsu
The first building you see after climbing the slope to the entrance is the training building, and to your left are the cafe and hotel building.
And the small path extending to the right leads to the forest where the glamping site and private beach are located.

1-1. Glamping site in the forest

Namu Amida Butsu
More than half of Nanmamui's approximately 8,000-tsubo (about 26,400 square meters) grounds are covered in lush forest. Colorful tiles and garlands can be found within the forest where the glamping sites are located.
The tents themselves are adorable and have a great look, and even just walking through the forest is enjoyable.
Namu Amida Butsu
There are three types of tents, categorized by size: four tents for 3-4 people, three tents for 2 people, and even one tent for just one person! Glamping alone?! I thought, but apparently quite a few people use it.

Each tent is placed on a separate deck, and there are chairs for forest bathing in front of each tent.
Namu Amida Butsu
Let's head into the tent right away!

Inside the tent, in addition to a bed and a nightstand, there was a refrigerator and a mirror.
Namu Amida Butsu
Apparently, you can also rent a coffee maker.

There was a power supply, too.

There were no loungewear provided, but otherwise, the amenities were almost the same as those found in a hotel.

Additionally, every tent has its own private shower and toilet booth. These booths are quite spacious, allowing you to easily change clothes after showering.

When you open the door, you're greeted by the pleasant scent of cypress wood.

Meals are primarily served at the restaurant. I thought that since the grounds cover 8,000 tsubo (approximately 26,400 square meters), I'd have to walk quite a distance to get anywhere, but it only takes about 5 minutes to walk from the edge of the glamping site to the restaurant.
They are flexible and willing to accommodate requests such as having a BBQ in front of the tent, but dinner requires advance reservations, so be sure to book at least a week in advance or along with your accommodation.

1-2. Playing in the calm Haneji Inland Sea

Some of the glamping sites have a sloping path that leads to a private beach. Following the winding path downhill will take you to a small sandy shore.

Haneji Inland Sea, located between Yagaji Island and the Motobu Peninsula, is an inland sea with calm waves.
Namu Amida Butsu
You can enjoy activities such as SUP and kayaking in this sea (start times are 9am or 14pm, depending on the tide level; please inquire).
Pedal-powered kayaks can accommodate up to four people in one kayak, making them popular with families with children.

Apparently, some people simply swim to an uninhabited island offshore and back.

2. Rice with Nammuyi

While the glamping sites and private beach are only available to hotel guests, visitors can dine at Nanma Mui.

From savory dishes like the Nan Ma Mui sandwich set and salt koji chicken noodles to sweets like smoothies and shaved ice, they offer a wide variety of options.

In the summer, we also offer curry and shaved ice made with mangoes grown on our own farm.

Meals are generally served at "Grill 720," but you can eat inside the grill or anywhere you like within Nanmamui.
It's wonderful to feel the breeze on the wooden deck built among the trees, the observation deck with its unobstructed view, and the ocean-view terrace facing the Haneji Inland Sea.

The cafe space is also retro and cute. There's a wall that's modeled after a cycad tree. Apparently, the pattern on this wall is the model for the Nanmamui logo.

Apparently, the sunset over Nakijin is beautiful at dusk.

Apparently, you can use any area freely unless there's a private booking.
I'd also like to explore scenery that makes delicious food taste even better.

3. Spacious hotels

Namu Amida Butsu
In addition to glamping, Nanmamui also has a hotel (3 rooms) and a training building with 6 bedrooms and a living/dining/kitchen area.
All the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The interior blends retro Japanese style with aloha elements. The lighting, dining table, and other interior furnishings were collected by the owner, who loves antiques, creating picturesque spots everywhere.
Namu Amida Butsu
All guest rooms have a kitchen and are equipped with all the necessary cooking utensils. You can cook your own meals if you bring your own ingredients and seasonings.
Namu Amida Butsu
Whether you prefer glamping or hotels, Nanmamui offers a unique opportunity to stay in a location close to both.

4. Welcome. Welcome back. Namu Amida Butsu connects people and nature.

Forests, sea, and sky. In Nanmamui, far removed from the hustle and bustle, lies unspoiled, unadorned nature.
Being in Nanmamui gave me a strange feeling of nostalgia, and I realized that there is something within me that resonates with this nature.
