How to enjoy Miyakojima Marine Park
The appeal of Miyakojima Underwater Park is that you can easily enjoy Miyako's beautiful ocean while fully clothed.
Miyako Island, in particular, is prone to sudden weather changes and strong winds that can prevent people from swimming in the sea, but you don't have to worry about that at the underwater park.
It's also fun to observe marine life while chatting, isn't it?

The stairs lead to the main underwater observation facility. A wheelchair lift is installed on the stairs, and there are also barrier-free restrooms inside the building.
The underwater observation facility is located on the seabed at a depth of 3 to 5 meters, and colorful tropical fish and other marine creatures can be seen swimming leisurely through the 24 acrylic panel windows.
The types of fish you can see vary depending on the season and time of day, but on average, you can see around 60 different species! If you're lucky, you might even spot sea turtles, octopuses, or sea snakes!
At the entrance to the facility, there's a clear explanation of the fish you can see today.
If you ask the staff, they will explain not only the ocean conditions for that day, but also the types and ecology of the fish, and an overview of the observation facilities.
In addition to the underwater observation facility, the seaside cafe "Kaiyu," where all seats offer ocean views, allows you to enjoy island cuisine and sweets, mainly featuring poke bowls made with tuna from the waters around Miyako Island and dishes using Miyako beef. You can also try making Shisa statues, photo frames, and accessories using seashells washed ashore.

Furthermore, walking paths have been developed in the area adjacent to the bay, allowing visitors to descend to the beach and access observation spots, so you can enjoy the sea of Miyako Island from various angles.
