"THE CALIF KITCHEN OKINAWA" is arguably the most child-friendly restaurant in Chatan. They offer a kids' menu, a kids' play area, a private nursing room, baby food for sale, and even free kids' amenities (diapers, snacks, etc.).

The shop is located on the 3rd floor of the Depot Island Seaside Building, close to the sea, but there's an elevator so it's easy to get to even with a stroller. From the terrace seats, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Mihama sea! It feels just like being in a stylish cafe in California♪
The adorable kids' play area is small but can be easily supervised from the side seats. The kids' menu includes hamburger steak plates, curry rice plates, pancakes, and udon noodles, all reasonably priced from 330 to 700 yen. There's also a wide variety of adult menu items, so you're sure to find something you like.

"Omutaco" is a dish where fluffy, runny eggs are placed on top of Okinawa's famous taco rice. While it's now on the menus of various restaurants, "Taco Rice Cafe Kijimunaa" can be considered the originator of omutaco.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building in Depot Island, the central area of American Village. While there are no sofa seats or tatami rooms, there are booth seats, making it easy to use even with children. It's also nice that they have kids' plates and cups available.
The kids' menu includes either taco rice or omutaco rice, along with a juice box, mini jelly, and fries. The sauce can be changed to ketchup. This is a great option for those who don't like spicy food or for those who find the kids' menu too large and prefer to share from an adult menu.

Deckers Kitchen is located on the second floor of the building that houses Blue Seal Ice Cream in Depot Island. Their signature dish is a hamburger made with 100% Okinawan Wagyu beef, a proud creation that has even won a gourmet battle in Chatan Town. In addition to hamburgers, you can enjoy a variety of other dishes such as omurice, gratin, loco moco, and taco rice.
There are two kids' menu options: a half-size portion of either beef stew omelet rice or chicken cream omelet rice, both served with a kids' drink. The fluffy and creamy omelet rice is very popular with children! And it's reasonably priced at 660 yen.

For lunch, you can add a salad buffet and drink bar to your main dish for an extra 500 yen. They also serve dinner, where you can enjoy your meal while overlooking American Village at night. There's a diaper changing area, so it's safe even if you're bringing an infant!

BRUAL American Village is a popular cafe known for its 17 types of hamburgers and its evening-only churrasco menu. Located on the second floor of the Depot Island Seaside Building, close to the sea within American Village, the terrace seating offers panoramic views of the blue ocean and sunsets. The comfortable sofas allow you to relax and unwind, making it easy to lose track of time.
There is only one kids' menu item: a small hamburger with fries and a snack. The price is 990 yen. You can add a kids' drink for an extra 100 yen! BRUAL is committed to "everything handmade and freshly baked," and they bake their whole wheat buns in-house every morning. This authentic hamburger, unlike any other, is sure to impress your kids.

In the evenings, you can enjoy a churrasco course meal, where large cuts of meat are grilled slowly over charcoal on long skewers. There is also a wide variety of plate dishes available, including garlic shrimp and roast beef.

Jirya, a restaurant specializing in Japanese sake and mixed noodles.

For those craving Japanese food, we recommend "Jiruya," a restaurant where you can enjoy dishes featuring dashi (Japanese broth) from morning till night. It's a Japanese restaurant open from 7:30 AM to 1:00 AM (1:00 AM), although there is a short break in between.

In the mornings, it operates as "Breakfast Jiruya," offering rice ball set meals and miso soup. At lunchtime, it transforms into "Noodle Shop Jiruya," serving special mixed noodles as well as egg rice and char siu rice bowls. In the evenings, it becomes a sake bar, where you can enjoy carefully selected premium sake from all over Japan along with a la carte dishes.

The table seating area has sofas along the wall, making it easy to use even with children. They also have high chairs that can be placed on top of chairs, and a tatami room at the back of the restaurant.

For breakfast, they have pork and egg rice balls, which are popular with children, and in the evening they have potatoes, fried chicken, oden, and more, so we recommend visiting for breakfast or dinner.

FUKUGIYA CAFE is a cafe restaurant run by Fukugiya, a specialty shop for Baumkuchen (layered cake). In addition to their signature Baumkuchen made with ingredients from Okinawa Prefecture, they also offer meal options such as roast beef and hamburgers, making it perfect for lunch!
I recommend this separate sofa seating area. It makes you feel like you're in your own special space (though there's only one, so it's quite competitive...). In addition, there are L-shaped sofa seats and high chairs for kids, which is great for families with children.

While there isn't a dedicated kids' menu, we offer a variety of kid-friendly options, such as soup and toast sets and French toast. We also have kids' cutlery available, so sharing is easy.

Sandbox Burger is a hamburger specialty shop located in Miyagi, Chatan Town. They bake their homemade buns fresh every morning and sandwich thick patties made with Angus beef and short ribs! What's more, the bacon and french fries are all homemade, making this a shop filled with the owner's dedication.

The furniture and accessories are all stylish, and the interior has an American atmosphere. There are many foreign customers, and you'll feel like you've stepped into an authentic American hamburger shop. Sofa seating and high chairs for kids are also available, so you can enjoy a relaxing meal even with children.

Besides their hamburgers, their fluffy and crispy fresh potato fries are also incredibly popular. Many fans say they're "unlike anything you'll find anywhere else!", so we highly recommend ordering them as a set. They also have a kids' menu, which includes a cheeseburger, a kids' drink, and fries for 780 yen.

For those who want to enjoy a meal with their family in a relaxed atmosphere, we recommend "Shunko Hitoshizuku," where you can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine! When you hear "authentic kaiseki cuisine," some people may be worried, "Is it okay to bring children?" But this restaurant is child-friendly, with tatami rooms (not sunken tables) and a children's menu available.

We especially recommend the lunch kaiseki! For 2,000 yen, you can enjoy an appetizer, soup, main dish, fried food, rice, and dessert. The menu changes every month, so you'll never get bored. There is one kids' menu: a children's bento box (800 yen) containing rice balls, fried shrimp, miso soup, and rolled omelet.

For dinner, you can choose between Course A (4,400 yen) and Course B (6,600 yen) of kaiseki cuisine, as well as à la carte dishes such as dashi-maki tamago (rolled omelet) and ochazuke (rice with tea). It's a popular restaurant frequented by locals, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance.

Hamaya Soba is an Okinawan soba specialty restaurant located near Miyagi Coast, a famous diving spot. It's a popular restaurant that has been featured in guidebooks and on television, and has been visited by many celebrities. It's so popular that there are long lines during lunchtime on weekends, so it's recommended to go early to avoid the peak hours.

The restaurant has a nostalgic atmosphere that evokes the good old days of Okinawa. There's a tatami room in the back, making it a safe and comfortable place even with small children. They even have children's plates, forks, and a noodle cutter!

There isn't a kids' menu, but they do have small portions of soba noodles (around 500 yen) and individual servings of juicy rice (150 yen). The soba noodles themselves are quite filling, so even small children will likely be full after sharing a portion with their parents.
