A new spot on Ishigaki Island, "Bar Live Free," a nighttime tourist farm, opened in October!

During the day, it's a farm that cultivates ginger lilies, island bananas, papayas, and other island vegetables, but at night it has started operating as a bar where you can enjoy the beautiful starry sky.

Located at the foot of Mt. Omoto, a little distance from the city center, this bar offers a completely new and unique experience, allowing you to freely move around the spacious grounds and enjoy drinks wherever you like.

Ishigaki Island is working to become the first place in Japan to be designated a "Dark Sky Reserve," which certifies the most beautiful starry sky in the world.

Only the light of fire and lanterns illuminated the ground, and the sky above was filled with countless stars...
Because there is no extraneous light, the number of stars visible in this location is among the highest on Ishigaki Island.

You can spend your time however you like: observing the Milky Way and constellations, traveling to your favorite spots, chatting about your travels, and more!

On days when the stars are clearly visible, there is a lights-out time, during which the park is made completely dark to allow visitors to enjoy the starry sky even more.

In the middle of the square is a bonfire, and benches are set up around it for people to gather.

It feels as if you're camping, and the space is designed to allow you to relax and chat while enjoying the warmth of the fire.

Lying in a hammock by the campfire and gazing at the starry sky, you might occasionally spot shooting stars or satellites orbiting the Earth!

The owner has traveled to many different countries with his family, and the park is filled with touches designed to appeal to travelers.
The bar counter at the very back of the park has an Asian theme and offers a selection of alcoholic beverages from around the world.

The large tent with its ethnic interior gives off a distinctly exotic atmosphere, making you feel as if you've stepped into a Middle Eastern country!
The space features foreign percussion instruments I'd never seen before, soft lighting, and pleasant background music, creating a strangely calming atmosphere.

This retro and cute Volkswagen bus was actually used and loved by its owner.
It was old and no longer working, so it was converted into a bar counter and reborn as a relaxing space.

I dream of traveling on a bus like this... and with an acoustic guitar in hand, I get all hippie-like!

You can also lie down in a large hammock tied to a tree, gaze at the starry sky, and relax at your own pace.

The natural background music hidden in the bushes (the sounds of frogs croaking and insects chirping) makes the quiet night even more enjoyable.

Because Ishigaki Island has a subtropical climate, sudden rain showers are quite common.
Since it's an outdoor event, you might be worried that it won't be enjoyable if it rains, right?

However, the rain in Ishigaki Island often stops quickly, so why not try to enjoy even the rain as if it were an event?
Listening to the sound of rain, it almost feels like soothing music.

"But I don't want to get wet..."

When it starts to rain, the staff will set up large parasols at each seat, so even outdoor seats are fine!
If you choose a bar or tent with a roof, you don't have to worry about getting wet, so that's definitely reassuring.

Umbrellas are available for loan within the park, so you can use them when moving around if it rains.

The bar project started when the farm staff were talking about how they wanted a place where they could have a drink.
The farm is a little far from the city center, and there are no bars or restaurants nearby.

Apparently, the bar project started with a rather spur-of-the-moment idea: "Let's create a place where we can drink alcohol ourselves!"

Apparently, all the buildings and walking paths in the park were built from scratch using only shovels and light trucks, without the use of any heavy machinery.

It would be a waste to keep this hideaway all to ourselves! So, we decided to open it as a bar.

Their architectural skills are amazing, but what's truly incredible is how they've worked so hard to bring a simple idea to life!

The food menu includes tacos filled with plenty of vegetables grown on the farm, as well as a weekly special dish.

The Island Banana Cocktail can also be made non-alcoholic, making it a great option for designated drivers or those who don't like alcohol!
Since payment is cash only, be sure to have some change or cash ready.

To maintain a secluded atmosphere, the location is not publicly disclosed, and only those who have made a reservation will be informed of the address.
It's about a 15-minute drive from the city center and about 20 minutes from the Kabira area.

If you ask the staff, they will arrange a taxi or designated driver for your return trip.
