1. How to get to Furuzamami Beach

You can get to Furuzamami Beach by village bus (Zamami Island is a 50-minute high-speed ferry ride from Naha's Tomari Port).
The bus stop is located at the port, and buses depart according to the ship's arrival schedule.
Incidentally, once the "Ao no Yukuru-kan" visitor center opens, just a three-minute walk from the port, the bus stop is scheduled to move in front of the Ao no Yukuru-kan.
The Ao no Yukurukan was scheduled to open on May 23, 2021, but the opening has been postponed because a state of emergency was declared in Okinawa Prefecture at the same time.
The bus ride from the port to Furuzamami Beach takes about 5 minutes, and the fare is 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for children one way (discounts available for people with disabilities).
The timetable is posted on the Zamami Village website. It varies depending on the season, so please check in advance!

You can get there on foot in about 20 minutes, but there are a lot of uphill sections.
2. This is what Furuzamami Beach is like.

Upon alighting from the bus at Furuzamami Beach, the first thing that catches your eye is the wooden deck and the azure sea.
The sea off Furuzamami, viewed from here, is so clear you can see where the coral reefs are. The expansive white sand beach is truly a picture-perfect, ideal beach.

In the summer, many parasols line this white sandy beach, creating a colorful photo spot. Because it attracts many visitors from all over the world, the beach facilities and leisure services are well-equipped.
3. Facilities at Furuzamami Beach

The beach has toilets, changing rooms, and showers (300 yen). There are also two beach huts.
At the beachside restaurant "heart land," you can enjoy classic Okinawan dishes such as taco rice, Okinawa soba, and pork belly rice bowl.

At the beachside restaurant "Sunny Side," you can also enjoy a variety of international dishes perfect for a tropical getaway, such as gapao rice and sunny rice.

In addition to food and drinks, the beach hut offers rentals of snorkeling equipment, life jackets, parasols, and benches.
We also offer marine activities such as jet skiing and banana boating (from 2000 yen), so you can just drop by and enjoy the sea to your heart's content.
However, there are no coin lockers at Furuzamami Beach, so you'll have to manage your own belongings and valuables!
4. Snorkeling at Furuzamami Beach

Snorkeling is a popular activity at Furuzamami Beach. The crystal-clear waters are teeming with fish, some even approaching you because they think the sparkle of your swimsuit is food!

However, in recent years, the swimming area at Furuzamami Beach has been narrowed to protect the ocean, and only a small portion of the coral and fish can be seen. Therefore, if you find snorkeling at the beach unsatisfying, be sure to join a snorkeling tour.
The tour will take you by boat to the best diving spots of the day. Everywhere you swim, you'll find coral reefs. You'll encounter an astonishing number of colorful fish of all sizes.
The beach house "heart land" also offers coral snorkeling tours (60 minutes, adults: 5000 yen, children: 4000 yen), and same-day participation is possible if there are vacancies.
5. Conclusion
Have you gotten a sense of what it's like to be at Furuzamami Beach? It's only about an hour from Naha, but the beauty of the sea is on a completely different level. The facilities around the beach are excellent, and there are plenty of corals and fish that are close by, making it the perfect place to easily enjoy the beautiful sea of the tropics.
Why not visit with your swimsuit in hand?
Please remember that you are guests in the ocean, so please follow the rules and enjoy the sea to the fullest!
