Hansen Festival

You can enjoy kids' attractions, live performances by popular bands, American food, and more.

Free Market

The appeal of U.S. military base events is that you can experience America without actually going there! The venues are lined with authentic American food, such as hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, and giant pizzas.


You'll find plenty of Japanese festival food, such as ice-cold shaved ice and tapioca drinks. It's a unique atmosphere where Japanese and American cultures blend. It's also interesting that some shops display prices in dollars (though they accept both yen and dollars).

In one corner of the venue, there was an exhibit of U.S. military vehicles. They were huge and cool!! I was very excited to see military vehicles for the first time.

The vehicles on display vary depending on the location; Air Force facilities display aircraft, while Navy facilities display battleships, and so on. Some facilities even allow visitors to climb inside and take photos. If you're lucky, you might even get your picture taken with a U.S. military member.

Another spot that gives you a taste of being abroad is an outdoor amusement park for kids. They often have multiple attractions that children will love, such as large slides and carousels. Many visitors are foreigners, and the venue, filled with English being spoken, makes you feel like you're in a foreign country, further enhancing the sense of being away from the ordinary.
