1. A small takeout specialty shop located along the coast of Uruma.

The exterior features a calming base of brown and cream colors. A round, plump yellow sign marks the shop.

The cozy interior is pop and stylish, with American-style trinkets placed here and there. You can see owner Morine's attention to detail in the brightly colored shelves, pendant lights, and the counter adorned with the shop's logo.

Although it's primarily a takeout shop, there are chairs on the wooden deck outside.

It has counter seats and terrace seats with parasols, and boasts a fantastic location right in front of the sea.

We're open from 6:30 AM on weekdays. Since we're located along the east coast of Okinawa Island, you can sometimes see a beautiful sunrise.

2. What color will you choose? Vivid smoothies packed with fresh vegetables, plus cute baked goods!

The smoothies come in three colors: green, red, and yellow. A medium size costs 680 yen, and a large size costs 850 yen.
You take a cup of vegetables or fruits from the freezer yourself, hand it to a staff member, and they blend it for you. Since they crush it right before you drink it, you can enjoy a fresh, just-made taste.

One of the charms of beji cafe is that you can choose what to mix with your smoothie. You can choose from four options: apple juice with milk, soy milk, or almond milk. If you're unsure which combination to choose, it's best to ask the staff!

They offer a wide variety of drinks, including coffee (400 yen), cafe latte (430 yen), lemon tea (330 yen), and orange juice (270 yen), so even small children can enjoy themselves.

In addition to smoothies and drinks, they also offer sweets such as iced cookies, scones, and stick cheesecakes. They're just the right size, making them perfect as a snack for children!

We also have light snacks like bread and hot dogs, perfect for breakfast or a quick bite.

In one corner of the shop, you'll find colorful and delicious-looking vegetables. These are vegetables that, while perfectly tasty, would have been discarded because they didn't meet the size or shape standards. Driven by a strong desire to eliminate food waste, beji cafe sources these non-standard vegetables directly from farmers and sells them at low prices. (Vegetables are not always available.)

When we asked owner Morine-san about their most popular items, smoothies were the clear winner. Green smoothies, in particular, seem to be very popular, and sometimes they sell out before closing time.

And surprisingly, many of the customers who buy smoothies are men. "There are men in their 30s and 40s who come in every morning before work," says Morine. The secret to its popularity among a wide range of people is likely not only the products themselves, but also the friendly personalities of the owner and staff.

3. I had a smoothie and a Beji Cafe hot dog.

I tried their number one best-selling green smoothie, followed by the popular red smoothie, and their new product, the Beji Cafe Dog.

They usually use kale in their green smoothies, but when it's not in season, they switch to a different vegetable. On this particular day, they were using bitter melon, which is packed with vitamins!

I cautiously took a sip, wondering if it would be bitter, and was surprised! There was absolutely no unpleasant bitterness. While there was a slight bitterness characteristic of bitter melon, the richness of the banana was more prominent, and even I, who don't usually like vegetable juice, could gulp it down.

The red smoothie has a slightly tart and refreshing taste, making it perfect for a hot summer day. Apparently, it's a popular choice for pregnant women who have lost their appetite due to morning sickness. Incidentally, the yellow smoothie is the sweetest of the three, making it very popular with children.

Next, I tried the new product, the Beji Cafe Dog.
This sandwich features warm bread, a crispy sausage, and curry-flavored cabbage. The spicy kick is irresistible. The garlic chips on top add a nice touch. You can eat it non-stop without getting tired of it.
