What does "be family" mean?

Introducing a new concept for Okinawa resort weddings: Family Building, a celebration that strengthens family bonds! Set against the backdrop of Okinawa's beautiful nature and culture, this is a precious time for both families to deepen their bonds through sports and begin their journey together as one family. Let's create family memories filled with smiles and emotion while communicating through Okinawan-style sports activities!

Who is Harley?

Hari is a traditional Okinawan maritime race that has continued since the Ryukyu Kingdom era. It is a boat race event that has been held as a fishing ritual to pray for a bountiful catch and safety. It is characterized by multiple teams rowing on the sea using traditional wooden fishing boats called "sabani." The basic format is to compete for speed while rowing powerfully.

Today, the Hari festival has evolved beyond a mere ritual, becoming a sporting event that fosters community solidarity and a tourist attraction. It offers a glimpse into Okinawa's unique maritime culture, making it a major draw for many visitors to Okinawa.

Why Harley is a good fit for be family

"be family ~Family Building~" is an experience designed to bring both families closer together, deepening their bonds while sharing memories through participating in sports together. The Hari boat race experience in Okinawa brings about this effect for both families.

1) Promoting communication

Communication is essential for rowing a boat smoothly. Even relatives who don't usually have many opportunities to talk to each other can communicate naturally by calling out to one another.

2) Improving teamwork

Rowing a boat requires everyone to be in sync and work together, so teamwork is essential. By cooperating and maintaining rhythm, people naturally become more aware of each other, leading to the building of trust and improved teamwork.

3) Sharing memories unique to Okinawa

The Hari boat race is more than just an activity; it's an opportunity to experience Okinawan history and culture. Through this unique Okinawan experience, both families cooperate, fostering a sense of unity, and they can share a sense of accomplishment when they reach the finish line. The sense of success and accomplishment gained from this experience becomes a valuable memory for the whole family.

Even families who don't usually have many opportunities to talk to each other can deepen their understanding of one another by enjoying Okinawan sports together, bringing them closer through sports and making their resort wedding memories truly special.

◆Male in his 20s

My experience with the Okinawan harley boat race was a very special time for me. Since it was my first time, I was honestly a little nervous at first, but as we became a team and worked together towards our goal, we quickly grew closer. Communication increased naturally, and the moments of laughter and cooperation were incredibly moving. Furthermore, the beautiful Okinawan nature and refreshing sea breeze I experienced while rowing the boat allowed me to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and truly refresh myself. This experience, which showed me that we can overcome any difficulties by working together, has become a very precious memory. Through the harley race, I realized how much our bonds have strengthened, and I reaffirmed my desire to cherish these relationships going forward.

◆Male in his 50s

Our harley boat race experience in Okinawa was an unforgettable memory. At first, we were confused about how to row, and the boat didn't move very fast, but as we encouraged each other and got into the rhythm, we started to work together in perfect harmony. As we got closer to the finish line, we all felt like we had become one team, which was very moving. This experience of becoming one with nature under the beautiful sea and sky of Okinawa made us forget about our daily lives, and I feel that our bonds have grown even stronger. We also learned about the culture, and I am very satisfied.

◆Female in her 60s

Even though I'm in my 60s, I was a little worried about whether I could participate in the Okinawan harley boat race, but I'm so glad I was able to try it with everyone. At first, I was worried about whether I would have the physical strength, but by rowing in unison with everyone, we were able to move forward. In particular, the experience of working together with the younger generation towards a common goal was very refreshing and enjoyable. Moving my body while feeling nature on the sea was exhilarating, and I felt refreshed both physically and mentally. The greatest joy is the deepening of bonds through this valuable experience.
