1-2. Types and Prices

There are two types of boats that go to Tokashiki Island: a high-speed boat (Marine Liner Tokashiki) that takes 40 minutes and a ferry (Ferry Tokashiki) that takes 70 minutes.
The passenger capacity is 200 for the high-speed boat and 450 for the ferry.
Tokashiki Island is easily accessible from Naha for a day trip, and while the high-speed ferry is more popular with tourists due to its shorter travel time, the regular ferry offers several advantages: it can carry cars, has cheaper fares than the high-speed ferry, and even has a sleeping area (with seats available, of course)!

The ferry operates one round trip per day, and the high-speed boat operates two round trips per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. However, during Golden Week and on weekends from July to September, the number of round trips is increased to three per day.

During the peak season, extra flights are added on weekends, and during the off-season, there are periods of maintenance (repair), so the operating schedule fluctuates quite a bit.
During periods such as when the train is undergoing maintenance, there may only be one round trip per day, so be sure to check the official website in advance.

If you use the same type of vessel for both the outbound and return journeys, a round-trip discount will be applied, making the fare ¥6,270 for the high-speed ferry and ¥4,180 for the regular ferry.
However, round-trip discounts do not apply when using a combination of high-speed boats and ferries.
In either case, in addition to the fare, an environmental conservation tax of ¥100 (round trip) will also be collected.
While I mentioned that you can transport cars on the ferry, there is a separate charge for each car plus one additional passenger.

1-4. Cancellation Fees

1-5. I want to be put on the waiting list.
If you are on the waiting list for cancellations, tickets will be sold in order of arrival at the counter on the morning of the event, only as many tickets become available due to cancellations.
During Golden Week and from late June (after the rainy season) through September, it's often fully booked.
Needless to say, it's best to make a reservation in advance during the summer.
1-6. Precautions before departure

Please note that the high-speed boat and ferry terminals are located a short distance apart within Tomari Port.
The high-speed ferry terminal is located about a 10-minute walk from Tomarin.
Since payment must be made on the day of departure, it's best to arrive at the port at least 30 minutes before departure.
Inside Tomarin, there's a convenience store, and although not many, there are also some restaurants and cafes.
