Those in the know are already doing it. How to make the most of Aeon Mall Okinawa Rycom

How to make the most of Aeon Mall Okinawa RycomAeon Mall Okinawa Rycom is the largest of all the Aeon Malls in Okinawa.
The vast grounds offer a wide variety of options, including restaurants, fashion boutiques, and a movie theater.

Actually, this place isn't just a shopping mall for locals; it's also a useful spot for tourists.
This time, I'll teach you how to make the most of "Rycom," a place you'll want to visit during your trip.

Tips for use [1] You can buy souvenirs all at once.

When it comes to buying souvenirs, the main places are Kokusai Street, roadside rest areas, and the airport.
However, if you find airport souvenirs overpriced (at full price) and don't plan on stopping by Kokusai Street or roadside rest areas, why not try choosing souvenirs at Rycom?

There's the classic souvenir shop "Washita Shop," an awamori (Okinawan distilled liquor) shop with over 1000 varieties and tasting options, and "KUKURU" which sells Okinawan-style printed accessories, so Rycom is really a great place to look for souvenirs.

The photo also shows "Churaoto.net," a select shop located just before the food section on the second floor, which features souvenirs carefully chosen by Aeon Ryukyu's buyers.
From traditional crafts such as Ryukyu glass and Shisa statues to seasonal tropical fruits and processed products like jams and condiments made from them, our wide range of products is sure to help you find your favorite item.

And this might surprise you, but I also recommend the food section!

There is a section stocked with classic souvenirs such as "purple sweet potato tarts," but we encourage you to check out the other areas as well! The food section is a treasure trove of local souvenirs, with Okinawan condiments such as Koregusu and "A1 sauce," mix powders for classic Okinawan snacks like "Sata Andagi mix," "Orion beer" in tropical packaging, compressed gluten, brown sugar, and much more.
Spam costs about half the price it does outside of Okinawa if you buy it there!

Tips for using it [2] Takeout is useful when you're tired of eating out.

During a trip to Okinawa, you tend to eat out every day, having both lunch and dinner at restaurants and eateries.
If you're feeling a little tired in your stomach towards the end of your trip, or if you want to enjoy a leisurely chat over drinks in your hotel room, I recommend taking advantage of takeout options.

Rycom boasts a well-equipped food court and a vast grocery store, offering a wide variety of takeout options.

Why not grab a variety of tempting dishes to take away from the food court, or buy some Orion beer, fresh sashimi, rafute (Okinawan braised pork), or tempura from the grocery store, and then relax in your hotel room, chatting away and forgetting about time?
The prepared food and fresh fish sections offer a selection of products that are completely different from those found in my local supermarket, reflecting Okinawa's unique character. You might even discover new menu items or ingredients.

Tips for using it [3] It has power outlets and free Wi-Fi.

During my trip to Okinawa, I relied on my smartphone's map app every single day. Many people also rely solely on their smartphones for taking photos, which leads to a subtle but real problem: the issue of smartphone battery life.

Bringing a spare battery is best, but in case of emergency, there are charging spots at Rycom, so make use of them!

There are seats in the food court where you can freely use power outlets, so you can fully charge your devices while having lunch.
Also, since free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, you can easily upload photos to social media or save your travel pictures to the cloud.

The food court area offers a beautiful view of the ocean on sunny days, and it's very spacious and comfortable.

Rycom seems to have everything you could possibly need, but there's one thing to keep in mind.
The parking lot gets especially crowded on weekends and rainy days.

On rainy days when outdoor sightseeing is difficult, you can take advantage of shopping and dining all in one place, and locals feel the same way.
There may be queues for parking, so if you're concerned, check the parking availability on the website.

Also, since the grounds are large, if you know what you want to do, choose a parking spot close to it to save time.

If you're heading to the food section, parking lot A is the closest. If you're going to the food court, parking lots G and F are closer.
