1. What kind of shop is Taste of Okinawa?

Taste of Okinawa Store Exterior"Taste of Okinawa" is a restaurant and bar where you can enjoy carefully selected craft beers and original dishes that focus on Okinawan ingredients and flavors.

The shop is located in "Sunrise Naha," a shopping arcade that runs from Kokusai Street, a popular tourist spot in Naha City, past the arcade where Makishi Public Market is located.

Easily accessible from Kokusai Street, it's the perfect place to enjoy a drink after a day of shopping—a truly sophisticated way to spend your time!

Inside the Taste of Okinawa storeThe restaurant has counter seats where you can easily enjoy a meal alone, but what's truly unique is the large table seating area in the middle of the restaurant!

In Okinawa, there's a saying, "Ichariba chōdē" (meaning "Once we meet, we're all brothers and sisters"), reflecting a deep-rooted appreciation for human connection and bonds. This large table is a perfect symbol of that spirit.

The "Taste of Okinawa" concept embodies the desire for travelers, locals, and people from overseas to gather around the same table and enjoy once-in-a-lifetime encounters with delicious beer and food.

2. You're sure to find your favorite beer! A wide selection to choose from.

Taste of Okinawa: Various Beer ServersAs you step through the shop's door, you're greeted by the staff's smiles, the colorful beer bottles lined up in the display case, and the stylish taps (where draft beer comes out) lined up on the counter.

"Taste of Okinawa" offers a wide selection of craft beers, primarily from Okinawa, but also from all over Japan.

As a result, many beer lovers from both within and outside the prefecture gather there and enjoy lively conversations about beer.

Taste of Okinawa: Colorful beer bottles lined up in the display case.Of course, even if you're not very familiar with beer, don't worry. Just tell the staff your preferences regarding taste and bitterness, and they'll recommend a beer for you!

From robust, full-bodied beers to smooth, flavorful brews, a diverse world of beer awaits you.

If you're overwhelmed by the many options, we recommend our draft beer tasting set. You can easily enjoy comparing different draft beers from the six varieties available daily, with options of 3 types for 900 yen or 5 types for 1,250 yen.

Taste of Okinawa Draft Beer Tasting Set (3 types)Basically, out of the six types of beer offered, three are Okinawan craft beers and three are craft beers from outside the prefecture. Since I was there, I chose to try all three Okinawan craft beers.

Despite its rich aroma, it has a light and smooth taste that goes down easily. It completely overturned my image of craft beer as being strong and difficult to drink!

Incidentally, one of the beers we tasted, "5 o'clock Wheat Ale," was specially brewed by Nanto Brewery, the company behind the Sango Beer brand, to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of "Taste of Okinawa." Trying such a special, exclusive beer would surely make for a wonderful travel memory!

3. A truly satisfying meal. Original Okinawan-style dishes.

Taste of Okinawa: Original Okinawan-style cuisineAt "Taste of Okinawa," another star alongside the delicious beer is our original, creative cuisine.

While focusing on flavors and ingredients unique to Okinawa, the food menu is designed to be enjoyable for people of all ages and nationalities, and every dish is a must-try for Okinawan food lovers.

The "Bagna Cauda with Locally Grown Vegetables (750 yen)," featuring fresh locally grown vegetables served with a warm cheese sauce infused with the refreshing spiciness of island chili peppers, is a popular and healthy dish.

Other offerings include their signature dish, "Eisbein" (pork trotters) simmered in Okinawan beer (¥1,580), and "Arancini" (rice croquettes) made with Ishigaki rice (¥650). These dishes, which are both distinctly Okinawan and innovative, are sure to whet your appetite.

Now, I have good news for all you food lovers out there.
"Taste of Okinawa" truly satisfies the desire to try a variety of dishes! This is because many of the large-plate dishes are available in two sizes: 'Half' and 'Full'.

Whether you're in a group and want to share dishes, or dining alone and enjoying a variety of options, this thoughtful approach is a major draw of "Taste of Okinawa." These delicious restaurants, suitable for any occasion, are a reliable companion for any trip.
