Located in northern Okinawa, in Nakijin Village, is Uppama Beach. This beach, long said to be home to a dragon god and cherished by the locals, is where "Okinawa Soba Ryujin" is situated.
Just four steps down from the terrace seating, you'll find yourself on the pristine white sands of Uppama Beach. Of course, you can also enjoy ocean views from inside the restaurant, and with Okinawan folk music playing in the background and the sound of waves, it's the perfect Okinawan experience.
Enjoy Okinawan soba while feeling the sea breeze, or take a break after playing in the ocean. We'll introduce you to the charm of "Ryujin Soba," a restaurant with an exceptional location and lovingly prepared soba noodles made by the owner couple.
1. An Okinawan soba restaurant where you can feel closest to the sea.
In front of the shop lies the endlessly blue Uppama Beach. From the terrace seating, you can enjoy the pleasant sea breeze while gazing at the ocean of northern Okinawa.
While it's an Okinawan soba restaurant, its open atmosphere reminiscent of a beach hut is also a major draw. You can even dine on the terrace in your swimsuit!
The shop is furnished with furniture imported from Bali, a country the owner couple loves, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of an Asian resort.

▲Inside the store: The light streaming in through the large glass doors is very pleasant▲
The interior of the shop was the kind of place that makes you want to just gaze out at the sea. The location, where you can go straight to the beach through just one door, is irresistible for sea lovers!
Okinawan folk music was playing in the store, and it made me realize once again, "I'm in Okinawa right now! I'm so happy to be here!"

▲Souvenir Corner▲
The souvenir corner also features handmade items. Among them is a hand-knitted "Nakijin Watermelon," which is modeled after the watermelon, a well-known specialty of Nakijin Village.
2. The most popular dish is Yongjin Soba!
"We wanted to create a soup that we ourselves could drink every day," says the owner couple, and their "Ryujin Soba" is the restaurant's most popular dish.

The soup is made without chemical seasonings, aiming for a flavor you can enjoy every day. It has a gentle taste with a subtle aroma of bonito.
The noodles are curly and absorb the soup well. They have a chewy texture and a smooth mouthfeel, making them very moreish.
The toppings include two types of meat: pork ribs (soki) and pork belly (sanmai). The flavors of the well-seasoned meat dissolve into the soup, and the taste changes with every bite.
According to the owner, there was a customer who once told him, "I've been working hard for a year just to come here."
"I hope that the images of my time here will come back to me when I'm working hard in my daily life, and that it will give me energy."
With these thoughts in mind, we run our shop every day.
"I hope to have the opportunity to connect with all of you."
Why not savor the experience while also appreciating the feelings of the owner couple?

▲Rice with a soft-boiled egg▲
Today, I also ordered rice with a soft-boiled egg on top. The rice is topped with bonito flakes, a soft-boiled egg, seaweed, and green onions, and when you break the egg, the runny yolk mixes with the rice.
You can add soy sauce or Koregusu (Okinawan chili sauce) to your liking!
Koregusu is a unique Okinawan condiment made by soaking Okinawan chili peppers in awamori (Okinawan rice liquor).
It's also delicious when added to Okinawa soba noodles.
