We'll introduce some delicious Okinawan restaurants inside Naha Airport, including Okinawa soba, a representative Okinawan dish!

1. Soba Restaurant Ryufu

The first place we'd like to introduce is "Soba Restaurant Ryufu," located on the 1st floor of the domestic arrivals lobby.
There is an escalator located roughly halfway between the ANA and JAL arrival gates; it's on the JAL side, next to the escalator.
Since the last order is at 22 PM, it's a convenient option even if you arrive in Okinawa late.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, including classic dishes like soft bone pork rib soba and Okinawa soba, as well as mozuku seaweed soba and mixed soba.
If you order it with Jushi, an Okinawan-style mixed rice dish, you'll get a hearty meal that will satisfy even the most discerning appetite.

The restaurant has approximately 10 counter seats and 15 table seats.
The vast majority of people were eating Okinawa soba.

2. Local Cuisine Tenryu

Let me introduce another Okinawan soba restaurant.
Located in the restaurant area on the 4th floor, "Tenryu," a local cuisine restaurant, is a famous establishment that even celebrities visit before departing from Naha.

Tenryu's menu features a wide variety of classic Okinawan dishes.
They offer Okinawan-style miso soup with plenty of ingredients, as well as a good selection of light snacks.
Okinawa's unique food culture is also one of its attractions.
If there's a dish you missed out on trying during your trip to Okinawa, Tenryu might have it on the menu.

Compared to the previously mentioned "Soba Restaurant Ryufu," the soup here has a more direct and pronounced bonito broth flavor.
The noodles are quite thick. They're chewy like udon, and there's plenty of pork ribs on top, so it's very filling.
Most soba dishes can be made into a set meal for an additional 250 yen.

3. Airport Cafeteria

The "Airport Cafeteria" is located on the first floor of the domestic terminal, in a secluded spot at the very end of the JAL side.
It's also an employee cafeteria inside the airport, and you often see people in uniforms that look like mechanics there, giving it the atmosphere of a local diner.

While airport restaurants generally have a reputation for being overpriced, you can enjoy Okinawan cuisine at a reasonable price here.
It used to be a hidden gem, known only to those in the know, but now it's a very popular spot.

This unpretentious atmosphere might also be characteristic of Okinawa.

4. Steak 88

Steak 88 is a long-established steak chain with over 40 years of history, and it is located on the 3rd floor of the international terminal.
After the war, due to the influence of U.S. military rule, restaurants serving steak became widespread in Okinawa, and steak has now become an integral part of Okinawan food culture.
Located in the international terminal, you'll have to walk a short distance to the store if you're using a domestic flight, but the interior is bright and stylish. You can also see the runway from the windows.
Many guests seem to use the facilities after checking in, to unwind and travel light.

The steak menu offers a wide variety of options based on the cut of meat and weight, and of course, you can also choose how you want your steak cooked.
It's rare to find an airport where you can get a proper steak, isn't it?

5. Ryukyu Kaiten Sushi Kairai (Temporarily closed for renovations)

Next, we introduce "Ryukyu Kaiten Sushi Mirai," a restaurant where you can feel the essence of Okinawa even if it's not Okinawan cuisine, and where you can enjoy a menu full of Okinawan flavor.

In addition to Okinawan seafood such as fish and sea grapes, you can also enjoy nabera (loofah) spinning around.
Besides sushi, they also have a surprisingly wide variety of meat dishes. There are even tempting items like sweet potato tempura.

There are seats with a view of the runway, which is something unique to Naha Airport!

6. Donburi Restaurant Shiki

At Donburi no Mise Shiki, you can find Okinawan-style donburi dishes using ingredients such as rafute (braised pork belly), sea grapes, and loofah.

I was surprised by the wide variety of options on the menu!
I'm interested in their rice bowls, of course, but also their creative dishes like taco somen.

The popular Rafute Donburi (braised pork rice bowl) is truly luxurious, with three thick slices of braised pork on top!
At first glance, it might seem like there's a lot of rice, but the braised pork is so flavorful that it makes you want to eat more and more rice.
For those who want a hearty meal, this restaurant specializing in Rafute Don (braised pork rice bowl) is highly recommended!

7. Restaurant Fugetsu

Restaurant Fugetsu is a family restaurant with a view of the runway.
Located on the 4th floor of the domestic terminal, you can enjoy a meal while watching planes take off into the crimson sky in the evening.

Some people might find comfort in the all-around menu, which includes curry, fried food, soba noodles, and seafood bowls.
Of course, you can also enjoy Okinawan specialties such as Soki Soba.
With a menu that appeals to everyone, it's recommended for families with young children or multi-generational family trips.

8. Po-tama

"Po-Tama" is a shop where you can easily enjoy "Pork Tamago," a popular rice ball in Okinawa.
There are locations in the food court on the 1st floor of the domestic terminal and the 4th floor of the international terminal, but please note that the international terminal location may be closed.

There are nine individual menu items in total: six standard items such as Pork Tamago and Abura Miso, and three hearty special items such as Goya Tempura. You can also purchase them in boxes containing multiple items.
You can eat in, and of course, takeout is also available.
It's convenient not only when you're feeling a little hungry, but also when you want to buy something as a souvenir.

9. Sandwich House Gourmet

Next up is Sandwich House Gourmet, famous for its sandwiches.
It has a relaxed atmosphere like a coffee shop, and is bustling during the morning and lunchtime hours.

This unusual bitter melon sandwich is inspired by Goya Champuru (bitter melon stir-fry) and features bitter melon, Spam, scrambled eggs, and mayonnaise.
The saltiness of the Spam makes it an addictive flavor. ...If you're curious, give it a try!
(However, the portion is very large, so it's best to share it between two people at breakfast.)

10. A&W

Let's start with the familiar Okinawan fast-food chain, A&W.
The American-style interior, including neon signs, remains the same, and from the window seats, you can see airplanes and the sea.

Popular main dishes include the "Melty Rich" burger with its delicious cheese, and the "Ham and Cheese Sandwich," which is also a favorite among Okinawan residents.
Orange juice is also a menu item that appeals to some Okinawa lovers.

11. Snack Court by Fugetsu

On the second floor, where the domestic security checkpoint is located, there are rows of souvenir shops in the center, but on either side behind the souvenir shops, there are two food court-style restaurants.
One of them, located near ANA's security checkpoint, is "Snack Court by Fugetsu".

In addition to light meals such as taco rice and Okinawa soba, they also offer zenzai (sweet red bean soup), soft serve ice cream, coffee, and more.
They also have items like "Ryukyu Sandwiches" that can be taken out immediately, which is convenient when you're short on time.

12. Royal Snack Court Naha Airport Branch

Royal Snack Court Naha Airport branch is a food court located on the second floor of the domestic terminal, behind the souvenir shops, on the JAL side.
The counter where you place your order also has hot food on display, and it's nice that the food is served quickly.

Some seats have power outlets!
There are two food courts in close proximity, and both are run by restaurant chains, so they are just as good as the others and are much better than I expected.
