At the end of April 2016, the new "Annex Building" was added to the KAFUU Resort, a resort hotel in Onna Village.
Looking at several major review sites, the average rating is an impressive 4.6/5, which translates to a score of 92 out of 100!*1
Many comments indicated satisfaction with the services and comfort provided in the rooms.
This time, I actually stayed in the annex building and will report on my experience!
I hope this answers your question about what the new building at Kafuu Resort is like.
*1: As of July 13th, this is calculated by dividing the average rating from six major hotel review sites (TripAdviser, Rakuten Travel, Jalan.net, Ikyu.com, 4Travel, and Rurubu Travel) by six.

1. What kind of place is Kafuu Resort Fuchaku Condo Hotel?
This is a relatively new resort hotel that had its grand opening in March 2010.
This hotel, located in the resort town of Onna Village, offers ocean views from every room.
The main clientele consists of families and couples, and many of them stay for three nights or longer.
Now, let me introduce some of the features of this hotel.
1-1. All rooms have ocean views.

Kafuu Resort is located a 5-minute walk from Fuchaku Beach.
From every room in the hotel, you can see the crystal-clear waters characteristic of Onna Village's natural beaches!
1-2. Spacious rooms averaging approximately 70 square meters each.
Kafuu Resort is divided into the following three buildings:
Hotel building
Condo building
Annex building
The 333 rooms across the three buildings average a whopping 70m² each! (36m² to 140m²)
This is equivalent to a 3LDK (1 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen) per room.
The spacious hotel rooms are also a key reason for its popularity.
1-3. There are plenty of events to enjoy within the hotel.

At Kafuu Resort, we constantly host events throughout the resort, including live music performances held at the restaurant every weekend, ensuring you have a fulfilling time!
The hands-on activities, such as making and painting Shisa statues, are popular because they can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
You can experience Okinawan culture without even leaving the hotel!
2. I tried staying in the new building, the "Annex Wing"!
The Annex building of the new wing is characterized by the fact that each room has a separate bedroom, living room, and bathroom.
Of course, all rooms offer ocean views, allowing you to enjoy a panoramic view of the sea in Onna Village.
This time, we'll show you what the annex building looks like.
Room details and facilities
Amenities
·restaurant
We'll explain the main facilities within the building!
Let's get started with the explanation!
2-1. Room Conditions and Facilities
This time, I stayed in a "corner suite" with a capacity of four people.

As it was my first time staying at a resort hotel like this, I was simply amazed by how spacious it was and how clean every corner of the room was!
Here, we will provide a detailed description of the room's features and amenities.
【entrance】
A home-like space where you take off your shoes before entering.

First, upon entering the room, you'll find a storage shelf large enough to comfortably fit a suitcase for international travel.

Opening the other side revealed indoor slippers, an umbrella, a vacuum cleaner, and other items.
It's nice to see such thoughtful consideration, like being able to cope with sudden weather changes.
A vacuum cleaner is highly recommended for those planning a long-term stay or those with allergies.
【living】
It's like a room in a luxury apartment! A spacious area.

This room is equipped with an air purifier.
It's also gentle on those who are concerned about dryness in their rooms.

On the table in front of the dresser were spa information and notes.
(If I had more time, I would have loved to try a spa treatment...)

The items placed below the TV are brochures such as information leaflets.
Approximately 180 types of home appliances and other items can be borrowed for free.Support itemsThe book included detailed instructions on things like "how to spend time at the hotel" and other aspects of the hotel experience.
There's also a Bluetooth-enabled speaker to the right of the TV stand!

This is the main room. It's a relaxing space with a natural feel.

The other desk was also quite spacious, making it easy to use for work.
【Bedroom】
It even has two spacious bedrooms!

This is bedroom ①. The pillows and other accessories are all in a light blue color, giving it a refreshing feel.

Next up is bedroom ②. The vibrant green and blue color scheme is sure to lift your spirits just by looking at it!

By the way, both bedrooms come equipped with a TV and air conditioning!
You can relax in your private room and watch TV before going to bed.

The closet is also well-equipped.
Personally, I was happy that there were four hangers in each bedroom!
【kitchen】
A fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and cooking utensils!
Next, let's take a look at the kitchen, which is located at the back of the living room.

The kitchen is located to the right, separated by a door.
Let's take a look inside right away.

The first thing that caught my eye was the "Nescafe Dolce Gusto"!
I took a good look at this machine, which I rarely see even in my private life.
An electric kettle is also provided for easy boiling of water.

Below that is a microwave oven.
It's also convenient for reheating takeout food from the hotel's restaurant, "Deli" (which I'll explain later)!

Next to the coffee maker and microwave is a fully automatic washer-dryer!
For those staying for an extended period, being able to do laundry in your room is a great advantage!
It's great for after playing in the sea or pool, and also perfect for families with children.
(According to the staff, the noise isn't that noticeable.)
Next, move to the cooking area on the right!

The room was equipped with an induction cooktop.
Since it doesn't produce any flames, it's safe even if you have small children.

When I opened the bottom shelf, I found a cutting board, knives, and even a dish drying rack!

The tableware is also set for four people. It's nice that there are various sizes available.

We also have a wide selection of hot pots and pans. You can cook as if you were at home.
*By the way, the nearest supermarket is the Onna Cooperative Store, about an 11-minute drive away.
There are three convenience stores within about a 15-minute walk.
[Bathroom]
The bathroom and toilet are separate, which is very convenient!

Finally, let me show you the bathroom.
I was impressed that there was space to store laundry baskets and towels.

The bathroom and toilet are separate.
It's nice to be able to use the facilities without worrying about what other people think when you're staying with a group.

The toilet has a bidet.
Moreover, since it's a new building, it's very clean!
2-2. Amenities
Next, let me introduce the amenities.

First, let's try this coffee.
The inclusion of Sanpin tea is something unique to Okinawa.

Next, I moved to the bathroom, and the first thing that caught my eye was the towels.
It was so soft and fluffy, it felt amazing to the touch!

In this space
• Skincare set (cleanser, lotion, toner)
• Hairband
·hairbrush
· Razor
・Body towel
• Cotton set (cotton swabs, cotton pads, hair ties)
These were some of the amenities available.
I made full use of it during my stay!

We use only carefully selected organic products for our shampoos, conditioners, and body washes.
The scent of lemongrass and other herbs is very pleasant.
Incidentally, these shampoos and body washes are exceptional products that the hotel management team was involved in developing from the very beginning, and they themselves conducted countless tests.
The next day, my hair, which I washed with this shampoo and conditioner, remained silky smooth and easy to run my fingers through until the following day.
I love it so much I want to use it every day!
2-3. Restaurant "Ryukyu BBQ Blue"

This time, I stayed in the "Annex Building," and had dinner and breakfast the next day at the "Ryukyu BBQ Blue" restaurant in the same building.
First, let's start with a look at dinner!
2-3-1. Dinner - Grilled Meat
The course we had this time was a full yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) course called "Shayo" (Setting Sun).
The menu looked like this.
[Appetizer]
*Assorted Ryukyu Namul
* Kimchi Platter
*Roast beef yukke made with premium lean beef
【pottery】
*2 types of prefectural Wagyu beef and red meat
*Two types of locally produced Wagyu beef with marbled meat
*Yanbaru Island Pork Loin with Green Onion and Salt Sauce
* Wrapping vegetables - Lettuce with Sichuan-style miso
【salad】
*Okinawan chili pepper and seaweed choregi salad
【meal】
*Rice topped with minced Wagyu beef
*Light soup with egg and sea lettuce
【dessert】
*Coconut and pineapple blancmange or passion fruit cream ice cream

Since I like sweet alcoholic drinks, I ordered a mango-based cocktail.
*When I was hesitating, the staff kindly gave me recommendations, showing their thoughtfulness. Thank you so much!!!

The first dish is a platter of Ryukyuan namul.
I savored the bitterness-free bitter melon and the exquisite seasoning that brought out the best in each vegetable!
(The author's favorite was pickled papaya!)
The sweet and spicy flavor, combined with the texture of the papaya, made it impossible to stop eating.

This is roast beef yukhoe.
With plenty of condiments and a light sauce, you can eat as much as you want!

Three luxurious types of yakiniku sauce are also available!
The sauces, made with tropical fruits and salt from Miyako Island, are all exquisite!

This Wagyu beef is so delicious you can eat it grilled without any sauce!

I also wanted to try the sauce, so I dipped it in the passion fruit sauce on the left.
The savory flavor of the meat and the fruity taste are a perfect match!

Yanbaru Island Pork has a salty flavor that makes you want to eat endless bowls of rice.
While yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) doesn't usually involve pork, this is a good option!

It was just the right time to see the sunset from the restaurant.
Eating while enjoying the beautiful view from the window is the best!!!

The sweet and savory seasoning of the Wagyu beef mince goes perfectly with rice!
The flavor of sea lettuce fills your mouth with every sip of the soup.
The light seasoning is perfect after eating meat.

Finally, dessert!
I chose the coconut and pineapple blancmange.
The rich coconut-flavored blancmange paired with a juicy pineapple sauce is a perfect combination!
It's rich, but it has an addictive flavor that makes you want to eat more and more.
From appetizers to dessert, the yakiniku course, featuring plenty of Okinawan ingredients, left me completely satisfied, both in mind and stomach. Yakiniku in Okinawa is a great idea!
2-3-2. Breakfast ~Japanese Buffet~

Breakfast is a buffet style featuring only Japanese food, with Okinawan dishes included.
An attendant will guide you to an available seat.
Incidentally, other breakfast venues include the cafe Deli (Japanese and Western food),
There are two types of Western-style buffets: Orange and another one. (See below)
It's nice to choose your breakfast venue according to your own preferences and mood.
I chose this breakfast buffet because I was staying in the annex building and I love Japanese food.

We were shown to a counter seat with a panoramic view of Fuchaku Beach.
The windows were foggy that day, but this is what it looks like on a sunny day!

There's a portable stove for hot pot dishes in the center of the table.
It's such a luxury to be able to eat hot pot in the morning!
Later, a staff member brought us the broth from the hot pot along with some steaming hot white rice.

As soon as I went to get breakfast, the first thing I saw was Okinawan food!
The menu includes papaya champuru, carrot shiri-shiri, and daikon irichi.

As we continued on, we discovered Okinawan seafood such as sea grapes and marinated tuna!
As someone who loves seafood, I found myself piling sea grapes and marinated tuna onto my plate.

We also have a wide selection of side dishes to go with your rice.
They also had the pickled papaya that I liked last night.

The salad bar also features Okinawan ingredients such as bitter melon slices and tankan orange dressing.

After much deliberation, this is what I finally chose!
There were so many things I wanted to eat that I ended up piling my plate full...

After serving breakfast, the staff member brought over some steaming hot white rice...

They brought over a pot containing broth.

Earlier, we selected some vegetables from the buffet area.

We add the ingredients to the pot at our own pace.

Here's the finished product! We enjoyed every bite, right down to the Okinawan soba at the end!
2-4. A Dissection of the New Annex Building!
Now, let me tell you about the facilities in the Annex building!
Infinity pool (Annex building)

This pool is located on the 12th floor of the Annex building, next to "Ryukyu BBQ Blue".
The contrast between the sea and the pool is absolutely beautiful.

This pool also has a relaxation area where you can take a break.
You can also get takeout from the neighboring "Ryukyu BBQ Blue" for a light meal.

Towels and inflatable rings are available for free rental next to the pool.
It's a great place for families with children!

The nighttime atmosphere is also charming and offers a different experience.
The illuminated pool looks magical, doesn't it?
Shop next to the front desk in the annex building
Next, we'll introduce the souvenir shop located next to the front desk in the annex building.

KAFUU Resort sells original Okinawa jams and aromatherapy products used in the guest rooms.
Finding a unique souvenir to commemorate your stay at the hotel can be a fun experience.
3. It's not just the Annex building! The charm of Kafuu Resort
Up until now, we have introduced the facilities in the annex building.
Now, let's take a look at the facilities in the hotel and condominium buildings!
We will introduce them in five categories.
3-1. Restaurant
Here's some information about the restaurants located in the hotel and condominium buildings.
3-1-1. Deli & Café

This deli is popular for its stylish exterior, reminiscent of a West Coast American cafe, and for allowing guests to enjoy meals at reasonable prices while staying at a hotel.
Room service is also available for an additional 100 yen on top of the food price!
I'm curious about pitaya balls...
3-1-2. Wine & Dining The Orange

This restaurant offers a Western-style buffet for breakfast and international cuisine in the evenings.

They also offer a wide variety of set courses, and it seems to be popular at all times of the day.
Enjoying a delicious meal while overlooking the sea is truly a blissful experience.
3-2. Outdoor pool

This pool is located next to the restaurant "Deli & Café" that I mentioned earlier.
You can also enjoy a panoramic view of Fuchaku Beach.
There are also many terraces by the poolside where you can take a break.
Taking a nap while enjoying the pleasant sea breeze...that sounds nice, doesn't it?
3-3. Concierge

This concierge can handle registration for workshops held within the building, etc.
We offer discounted admission tickets to major tourist attractions.
There are also bus tours that allow you to efficiently visit tourist attractions.

3-4. Shop

Next to the concierge is a shop selling souvenirs and other items.
Unlike the annex building we saw earlier, this one has more of a souvenir shop feel, similar to those found in tourist areas.

Starting with these original chinsuko cookies with cute packaging,
They also had a wide variety of sweets to buy as souvenirs.
According to the staff, the most popular item is the classic purple sweet potato tart.
They were selling lots of local food, and it was fun just looking around!
3-5. Red roof tiles
On my way to a certain place, I came across a building that exuded a sense of history, typical of Okinawa.

Its name is Akagara (red tile).

It appears that sanshin (Okinawan stringed instrument) lessons and other activities are held in this charming building.
It's great that you can experience the Okinawan atmosphere even inside the hotel!
3-6. Kafuu Beach House
It's about a 5-minute walk from the hotel building.
This three-story cafe offers a panoramic view after playing at Fuchaku Beach.

The exterior has a simple, natural design that's very stylish!

Upon entering, you're greeted by a cute, handwritten welcome sign.

The furniture's color scheme is simple and calming.

They were selling light snacks and stylish drinks.
Apparently, it can also be used as a bar in the evenings.

There's also a terrace seating area on the 3rd floor!

Here's the view from the top floor!
You can enjoy a panoramic view of the crystal-clear waters of Fuchaku Beach.
You can enjoy a blissful moment while listening to the sound of the waves and feeling the sea breeze.
